ROGUES

(Retired Old Grads United To End Slavery)

When Service Academy graduates, ROTC, Officer Candidate School officers and/or enlisted military retire from military service or a second career, they may sense a lack of purpose. Rarely does a person spend a lifetime in service to our Nation and to others - to then just drop off the map.

Human Trafficking, best described as modern-day slavery, is a scourge that regrettably is on the rise in the United States and around the world.

Human Trafficking networks extend into every state in the U.S.

Victims can be found in legal and illegal labor industries, including child care, elder care, the drug trade, massage parlors, nail and hair salons, restaurants, hotels, factories, and farms. In some cases, victims are hidden behind doors in domestic servitude in a home. Others are in plain view, interact with people daily, and are forced to work under extreme circumstances in exotic dance clubs, factories, or restaurants. Victims can be exploited for commercial sex in numerous contexts, including on the street, in illicit massage parlors, cantinas, brothels, or through escort services and online advertising.

We can use your help.  If you would like to volunteer your time to assist in efforts to counter human trafficking, the Center for Research Excellence to Counter Human Trafficking can link you to organizations in your region, state, or local area that can use your help.  The leadership, organizational capabilities, and skills that you offer can be of great use – and have a profound impact.

You set the parameters - you decide how much time and effort you are willing to commit.

Be a ROGUE.
