Each summer, the BTI Institute hosts interns to encourage academic pursuit in the Homeland Security Enterprise. Traditionally, the BTI Institute hosts cadets from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U. S. Military Academy, and selected Native American tribes. These non-paying internships are open to application by students from other colleges and universities. The number of internships awarded is dependent upon Department of Homeland Security and university funding.
Center interns are actively engaged in the fight against human trafficking through a four-week research period focused on current and emerging human trafficking issues and Center initiatives.
